Anand: A Soul’s Journey Home
Dive into the story of the inner light within us all, on its journey to experiencing true Anand, explored through storytelling and instrumental expressions. Witness theatrically the narrative of a soul’s journey through life and its return to the light, woven together with instrumental acts and spoken word poetry.
The tradition of performing arts in Sikh heritage goes back centuries. Classical Sikh music is practiced in raags, or various systems of musical notes meant to evoke different moods. Whether through Gurbani or Vaaran, poetry is interwoven in Sikh culture, heritage and history. This event features a variety of local artists, performers, and instruments, including spoken word, Sarangis, Violins, Tablas, and Dhaadi. Join us and be immersed in melodies and raags that are rarely performed for mainstream audiences.
Featuring Akaaljot Singh, Arwant Singh, Harmeet Kaur, Soheyla Kaur, Harman Kaur, Japnaam Kaur, Jodh Singh, Satpreet Singh, and Sukhpreet Singh.
Don’t miss this opportunity during Sikh Heritage Month and buy your tickets today!
Audience members are strongly encouraged to cover their heads out of respect and in the tradition of Sikh musical performances. We will provide head coverings for anyone who needs them.

Each artist has embraced this pursuit, creating works that reflect the core values of Sikhi. They are true gems of our community, and their art stands as a testament to the perseverance, resilience, and pride carried forward by our ancestors. The richness of our faith, interwoven with the cultural fabric of being Canadian, is proudly displayed throughout the show.
