Sikh Heritage Month BC proudly presents “Blossoming”: an intimate, immersive and musical evening, commemorating the rich heritage of the Sikh musical and storytelling tradition and the completion of Season 1 of the Suraj Podcast X. The evening opens with a discussion on the art of storytelling within Mahakavi Santokh Singh’s precolonial Sikh epic, the Suraj Parkash [1843 CE], reflecting on how the Suraj Podcast X intends to revitalize these stories for the diaspora through mediums such as language, music, and art. Part two debuts “Blossoming” – composed and produced by Eeshar Singh – which contains the music behind Season 1. With accompanying visuals, Eeshar will present a musical ensemble featuring the meditative sounds of his Santoor, atmospheric synths, and the powerful boom of the Nagara. He will be expertly supported on stage by his brothers, Jeevan Singh (Tabla) and Sirrjan Singh (Tar Shehnai).
