Curiousity and Joy in Everyday Life - “Talk to me, What do you See? Beauty and Joy from A-Z”

While using Sandip Sodhi’s picture book, this lesson allows students to explore curiosity and joy in everyday life.

Students first partake in a discussion about the words “joy” and “happiness” before they read the story. Afterwards they make connections between the story and their own lives/the world.

Focus Questions/ Key Understandings

  • How does being in nature or observing nature lead to one’s curiosity of interconnectedness or joy?

  • How do individuals show joy?

  • What connections can you make with the ideas or images in the story?
